Central Arizona Riding Academy is a family-friendly dressage training and boarding facility located in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Owned by Dorie Vlatten-Schmitz (Grand Prix Level and has her “S” level USEF Judge’s license and her USEF Sport horse "r" Judge’s license. She also a member of the American Hanoverian Society Mare and Stallion Committee. Dorie has her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Riding Medals and is a member of the USDF L faculty.) CARA provides training for the horse and rider from beginner through Grand Prix. Whether you are new to dressage or an FEI rider, our instructors are qualified to help you reach your riding goals. All riders will enjoy the many amenities our 10-acre facility has to offer, including two standard-sized dressage arenas, one covered for your comfort, and daily pasture turnout. Show opportunities exist throughout Central and Southern Arizona for competitive riders. CARA hosts multiple schooling shows and clinics throughout the year, and an annual summer camp for young riders. And of course the 40th anniversary of The Champagne Show.
